Capsun was  created in 2017 as a technology company developer. 

The main business is focused on two areas: the development of our proprietary BlueSolar Technology as well as the engineering and  development of PV and Wind projects with advanced grid stability capabilities procured by synchronous condensers. In this field, we have developed more than 1 GW of projects with this architecture.

Bluesolar: a PV technology to efficiently implement  hydrothermal low cost water storage

BlueSolar is the first commercial hybrid technology that intelligently integrates photovoltaic (PV) technology with solar thermal (ST) technology. 

BlueSolar  PV-thermal technology integrates within the glass of a PV panel an intelligent optical filter that allows the efficient implementation of  low cost thermal energy storage made by liquid water, with an excellent roundtrip efficiency of 85%. 

The filter transmits to the PV cell wavelengths where the Si cell is highly efficient and specularly reflect back to a centralized thermal receiver the non-efficient part of the solar spectrum.  The Heat Transfer fluid as well as storage media is liquid water.


Bluesolar has an excellent track record of already executed innovative projects funded by Spanish leading financing institutions

The CDTI seal of excellence program financed the construction of a pilot plant in Puertollano (SoE-20211009). Recently the technology was considered as strategic technology and selected within national renewable supply chain framework (IDAE PR-RENOVAL 2024-000046).
